As an Agricultural Specialist/Agronomist you will support the Program Advisory and Science teams within the Program Function. You will provide agronomic and technical advice required by farmer facing teams and partners on regenerative agriculture relevant to our European carbon program. We are looking for someone who has an agronomic/ agricultural science background with experience in communication of arable agricultural practices and strong communication (advisory) behind them. This person will have a knowledge of agricultural, environmental or carbon sciences combined with an ability to communicate effectively within the Agreena Program. An ideal candidate is mission-driven and outgoing with a deeply rooted ambition to support change and increase knowledge of regenerative agriculture amongst peers and farmers.


The Agreena Program function investigates the science required for on farm activity and data measurement that can support verification by independent standards. The function comprises of the Science & Advisory, Standards and Program & Data Operations teams. You will be a part of the focus on Science & Advisory and will be working closely and supporting the team efforts to communicate and develop the Agreena Program and supporting the understanding across the business and with farmers.

How will you make an impact:
  • Communicating regenerative arable farm management practices within regenerative agriculture and how they impact the wider Agreena program to both your colleagues and farmers;
  • Facilitate and present at internal workshops to train teams working directly with farmers;
  • Create multi-format support material (including LMS courses) for communication, guidance and promotion of best farm practices for the Agreena Program and carbon farming
  • Collaborating with the Science & Advisory team and wider Agreena business to translate this work into activities and logic that help strengthen our existing work and platform;
  • Communicating across multiple teams, the needs of science and methodologies in a practical and feasible way to help the business to implement changes, including alignment with our international standards, activities to be practised on farms, data required to provide evidence and other initiatives. 


Who we’re looking for:
  • Proven experience in working in agronomy, agricultural sciences, regenerative agriculture or other relevant discipline;
  • Several years experience working in the agriculture/food industry to promote best practice with the relevant industry qualifications to provide agronomic or nutrient management advice;
  • Experience with communication of complex technical messages, material and/or workshops in a precise, and easy to understand way;
  • A broad scientific knowledge of research and relevant literature on best farm management practices available and their impact on the environment - and the ability to communicate this as actionable & practical advice to farmers, or those who work with farmers ;
  • Evidence of effective communication with multiple stakeholder groups e.g farmer groups, seminars, articles or other material within the agricultural sector;
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences or similar;
  • Strong communicator and team player, with a people-focus and organised approach to projects;
  • Fluency in English.


Bonus points if you:
  • Have experience with research for private business and/or academia;
  • Have experience in on-farm advisory & have advised farmers on how to implement regenerative practices
  • Have assisted farmers to enter VCM programs, or have consulted on data requirements and applications to subsidy or environmental stewardship schemes;
  • Have project management qualifications;
  • Are passionate about collaborating with different teams;
  • Are detailed-oriented with the ability to produce well-presented, error-free results;
  • Have worked with farmers in more than one European country;
  • Have proficiency in other European languages.
